DESCRIPTION:The University of Liverpool is organising a two-days conference on “International cooperation under the European Convention on Human Rights” (Liverpool\, 15-16 October 2026). \nThe conference relies on a dialogue of scholars and practicing experts from the European Court of Human Rights (the Court) and the Council of Europe. The call for papers is open to interested scholars (PhD candidates\, postdoctoral and established scholars). Papers might cover any aspect of the conference topic\, such as Convention rights in the fields of climate change\, refugee and immigration control\, criminal cooperation\, membership in the EU or other international organisations\, procedural duties to cooperate with the Court in pending procedures or enforcement of judgments. \nSee the full call for papers here. DESCRIPTION:On 15–16 October 2026\, the University of Liverpool\, School of Law and Social Justice will host the conference “International Cooperation under the European Convention on Human Rights: Sources\, Limits\, and Enforceability of State Obligations”. \nOn 15 October at 17:00\, Judge Mykola Gnatovskyy (European Court of Human Rights) will deliver the keynote speech\, “The Cooperative Infrastructure of the European Convention on Human Rights: An Article 3 Perspective.” \nThe conference will conclude on 16 October with a plenary discussion featuring Judges Mykola Gnatovskyy and Vasilka Sancin (European Court of Human Rights) and the organisers. The keynote and all Friday afternoon panel discussions\, including the plenary\, are open to the public; the plenary will also be streamed online. Further details and registration are available here.
