European Law Unbound Society Annual Conference
The ELU-S Annual Conference will take place in Lisbon from September 1-3, 2026. The conference will be hosted by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
The conference theme is: “Words or Deeds? The European Moment”. At a time of profound transformation, Europe is navigating the gap between declarations and demonstrations, between articulated values and their practical realisation. This year’s conference invites scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to examine what might be called “the European moment” – a period characterised by both possibility and precarity, where the discrepancy between institutional rhetoric and concrete action is perhaps more visible and consequential than ever before.
The conference will feature a keynote speech by Prof. Isabel Feichtner and plenary events on Dignity and Sovereignty.
